Honour the time of the day or the fact of feeling too fatigued to immerge into a practice of energising sun salutations. Balance your day with this gentle sequence that will never move you far away from the support of the floor. This flow has a meditative quality to it, yet it offers enough physicality and soothing stretches to help you move the day out of your body. Pregnant yoginis, as long as you are not completely new to yoga and not too far ahead in your pregnancy (towards the end of your 2nd trimester as a rule of thumb) this class will just work well for you if you are still comfortable lying on your back!
Note that during later pregnancy the weight of your baby can exert too much pressure on the vena cava (a large vein that runs along the side of the spine and curves behind the uterus) when lying flat on the back, which inhibits the blood to flow back to the heart causing symptoms like dizziness, nausea ect.
Props: 1-2 blankets or 2 firm pillows, yoga block
Duration: 35 minutes
